Gandhi Medical College is one of the most prestigious institutions of this country situated in the very heart of India , the City of Lakes , capital of Madhya Pradesh which is blessed with scenic beauty, rich in culture tradition add heritage.
Our institution from its humble beginning in 1955 has grown spectacularly achieving notable success in many directions and reached up to present size, the academic clinical and cultural activities are at par with any institution of excellence. We are proud to have with us the medico legal institute, Regional Eye Institute, and with the recent addition of Cardiac Sciences Center and up coming Trauma Center will add another feather in the cap. Apart from regular medical graduation, post graduation and Para medical Courses, institution also have Post doctoral course in Pediatric Surgery and soon will have many more i.e. in Cardio thoracic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Cardiology and will be first in this state.
The main College building, hospital building and hostels are situated by the side of famous Upper Lake of Bhopal, creates a unique and peaceful atmosphere for academic and clinical work, with the most modern facilities. In its long journey of 47 years the College has achieved many break through but one, which I would like to mention here, is the decision of the Govt. of M.P. to give Autonomy to Medical Colleges in 1997 enabling us to set our own path.
